    Unconventional materials and techniques are quintessential to Renee Phillips’ sculptural yet painterly artwork. By mixing latex and enamel into thickened acrylic paints she creates a drippy layered look. Parts are sanded away to reveal the depth of the process, something that defines her artistic identity.

    The work comes with a Certificate of Authenticity signed by the artist.

    We offer $50 shipping in the continental U.S. and $20 installation service in the NYC metro area. Return shipping is also $50, but waived if you rent for 6 months or longer. Just shoot us an email and we'll help you safely return the artworks.

    As a process-based artist inspired by Earth's ever-changing surface tensions, Renee explores the manipulation of paint, and layering of color, to achieve sculptural like results that droop, ripple, crack and pool on the canvas. Further engaging the elements of heat, wind, water and gravity, she pushes paint to its limit, allowing each color to display its individual ‘signature effect’, which is studied, layered and re-worked to reveal highly tactile and seductive surfaces that characterize her contemporary color field paintings.
