BIO
Ellen Hermanos' works appear on Curina courtesy of Susan Eley Fine Arts.
Ellen Hermanos was born and raised in New York City as a member of an artistic family. Motivated by a lifelong love of color, she layers her paintings to create depth and complexity. Her alternative career as a psychotherapist influences her artistic process. What surfaces is a deep commitment to what lies below, in painting and in life. She creates clarity and curiosity through color fields of abstraction, and lately has branched out into exciting directions. Hermanos is educated in art history and social work. Her work has appeared in television and in motion pictures. Her solo exhibitions include local businesses and galleries around Massachusetts and New York City. Hermanos’ work has been included in group exhibitions and installations everywhere from New Orleans to Connecticut. She lives and works outside Boston.
