Through painting, I investigate my surroundings, connecting my inner and outer experiences. Most of my larger scale paintings are plein air pieces that I work on both outdoors and in the studio, in a back and forth process. Looking for the painting’s associations and energy between sessions is an important part of my process, which sometimes leads far from the starting point, to narratives which are different from what might otherwise be imagined.
