Expressive and vulnerable, Molly’s paintings read like an unpredictably eloquent dream journal. A cloudy haze of bright colors are expertly synthesized to evoke memories of a time and place which feel familiar, though ultimately unknown. As a skilled colorist, Molly creates abstract moments of nostalgia and sentimentality. Molly’s pieces are made up of experiences, both lived and imagined. She is able to capture small moments and transfer them onto canvas.
Amy Cheng was born in Taiwan, raised in Brazil, Oklahoma and Texas. She received a BFA from the University of Texas at Austin, and an MFA from Hunter College, City University of New York.
Christina's mixed-media works are engaged in a perpetual struggle to burst out of whatever shape that holds them together. A philosopher once said that any artwork is a battle between material and content - this cannot be truer when Christina uses fabric like khakis, linen, and yarn that usually function to clothe and decorate our bodies but in her works given freedom to emanate energy on their own. In a sense, her approach seems like a rebellion against the way we in the modern times tend to bend nature as an object of our own use. When given the smallest crevice, nature will re-emerge in its full majestic force.
Taylor Stoneman is a contemporary painter living in Berkeley, CA. Utilizing a range of abstraction, her work examines the meaning of wilderness and its imperative role in human life. Taylor’s paintings have been juried into exhibitions across the country, including at Firehouse Art Center’s Harrington Gallery, Voss Gallery, SFWA Gallery, Delaplaine Arts Center, Studio Montclair’s Leach Gallery, and the Ojai Art Center. She most recently exhibited at The Other Art Fair Los Angeles this spring.
Ryan Frank is a visual artist and woodworker based in Brooklyn, NY. He’s had solo exhibitions at the Invisible Dog Art Center, the Mattatuck Museum, the Children’s Museum of the Arts, Tremaine Gallery and Icehouse Project Space. In 2015 his mobile installation A Wandering Sukkah toured throughout New York City to much acclaim, stopping at venues including the Queens Museum and Bronx Museum. In addition to his art practice Ryan is an ardent runner and practitioner of Tai Chi.
My work develops from the physical process of painting. Compositions are not planned or created, but found; they emerge somewhere along the way. To me ,what matters, is the act of painting itself. Having no concept in mind frees me from rules, elements of style and formal techniques. Usually I start a new canvas with gestural mark making or shapes. Using brushes, palette knifes and rags the oil paint is applied thickly, building layers. One mark here leads to another over there. I work on more than one piece and so a conversation between the them begins. What I do on one canvas has an influence on the other and vice versa. A unique aspect of my painting process is the fact that I have trained myself only to use my left hand although I’m right handed. I’m using the left side right brain connection which is all about imagination and not controlling anything. My artwork is a way to express what I cannot say with words.
Born in Paris, France, Valérie Hallier came to NYC with a Fulbright Scholarship and graduated from SVA in Computer Arts. She has been shown internationally including in the US and in Europe. Residencies include LMCC Swing Space, Pioneer Works, NARS Foundation, Trestle Art Space in Brooklyn, Harvestworks, West Harlem Art Fund, 4Heads on Governors Island and ESKFF Foundation, Mina Contemporary in New Jersey. Hallier was recently the recipient of a Contemporary Art Foundation grant and a MAAF (NYSCA & WaveFarm) grant.
Ms. Puppin is an internationally exhibited visual artist. Many renowned venues internationally have showcased her work, including MEAM – European Museum of Modern Art in Barcelona, Spain, Fire Station – Qatar Museums in Doha, Qatar, and galleries and museums in Qatar, Germany, Russia, China, Israel, Spain, France, India and USA. She was chosen to represent the Italian contemporary art in 2020 by the Italian Embassy in Qatar. Ms. Puppin is the recipient of several highly prestigious residencies and prizes.
Cora Jane Glasser is a third generation New Yorker. She holds a degree from Queens College and attended the Arts Students League. Glasser completed a commission for the production of permanent artwork onto architectural glass for a building in Queens, and created a monumental installation for a group exhibition. Her work has been shown in numerous solo and group shows nationally and internationally, and is held in private, corporate and municipal collections. Glasser works from her studio in Williamsburg, Brooklyn.
Sinejan’s mixed media paintings are an ode to the lived experiences of places that no article, photograph, or map can capture. Borders between two countries are never clear cut; languages become forgotten; some small towns cannot be reached by even mail, rendering it invisible. To parallel this constant process of unraveling, Sinejan erodes geographical boundaries on maps with stains of dirt, rust, spices, straw, and other materials collected from places she personally traveled to. She actually keeps glass jars of scrap metal on her studio cabinets that will one day turn into rust - a poetic process where even the most hardened, robust-looking materials eventually return to nature.
Gwyneth Leech is a New York City based artist. Her paintings of high-rise construction express the optimism and anxiety of rapid change in the urban environment. She has been featured in solo and group shows throughout the United States and Great Britain and is the subject of a multi-award-winning documentary, The Monolith. Her paintings are in numerous private and construction industry corporate collections. She holds degrees from the University of Pennsylvania and Edinburgh College of Art in Scotland.
Christopher Blyth graduated from the Cooper Union in 1993 and has since exhibited in numerous group and solo exhibitions. Christopher maintains a studio in Harlem, NYC. Describing Christopher’s paintings in a New York Times review, Helen Harrison writes "His involvement is almost entirely with the work of art as an end in itself, a product of the artist's engagement with his materials and the visual and tactile effects they achieve."
Following initial studies at the Brooklyn Museum Art School, Peter Colquhoun moved to Italy and at first settled in Venice for 6 months. Later he painted and exhibited in various cities including a solo exhibition at the Fenice Gallery in Venice in 1985. He also taught at a small art school in Casole d’Elsa, Tuscany. After returning from Italy, cityscape became an area of interest and activity as it is to the present day in New York City, his home.
Jacqueline Ferrante is a painter based in New York and Italy. She was raised in Long Island, NY, and earned her Bachelor's degree in Art and Theater from Northeastern University. Her work has been exhibited throughout the United States and Europe. She has completed residencies in New York, Ireland, and Italy.
Dina AZ. Salem is an Egyptian-American professional artist based in Washington, DC. Dina’s artistic expression is strongly influenced by Eastern & Western cultures, and various forms of meditation/self-discovery. These ideologies and disciplines are referenced in her approach to painting; specifically in her exploration of emotional healing & growth.
Nicki Adani, a California-based multi-disciplinary artist, uses her extensive fashion design background in her sculpting practice. Her multicultural heritage informs her work, as she creates balance using opposing elements. Consistently exploring themes of empowerment and inner transformation, Adani's work has been featured at prestigious events such as Silicon Valley Sculpture, Burning Man, and BottleRock Napa. She received an honoraria grant from Burning Man Arts for her installation, "Taking Flight ''.
As a process-based artist inspired by Earth's ever-changing surface tensions, Renee explores the manipulation of paint, and layering of color, to achieve sculptural like results that droop, ripple, crack and pool on the canvas. Further engaging the elements of heat, wind, water and gravity, she pushes paint to its limit, allowing each color to display its individual ‘signature effect’, which is studied, layered and re-worked to reveal highly tactile and seductive surfaces that characterize her contemporary color field paintings.
Ken lives and works on the Eastern Shore of Maryland. Born in Brooklyn 1947, Ken graduated from The Cooper Union (NYC) with a degree in Architecture. As an Assistant Professor, he previously taught studio art and architectural design at the University of Kentucky, Lexington, KY and at IIT, Chicago, IL. Before turning to painting his architectural practice spanned 2+ decades and in various locales.
